Fontainebleau

10 mai
Today we had a group trip to beautiful Fontainebleau! It's a large castle southwest of Paris.  It was built by Francois I and then was reused by Napoleon.  It was the most beautiful day weather wise that we've had since we've been in France.  I felt hot for the first time.  We had gorgeous blue skies with gorgeous white puffy clouds.

In the town around Fontainebleau

Beautifully ornate decoration on every wall, floor, and ceiling.  Nothing seemed too good for a King.

The best part of Fontainebleau though were the beautiful grounds outside.  There were stunning fountains, lakes, trees, flowers, and swans!

Love the reflection in the water in this one.

This grand staircase in front was the best.  I can picture royalty walking up and down them.

When we got back to Paris, we joined lounging Parisians and tourists in front of the Eiffel tower to watch the sun set. It never gets old :)
