Monet gardens in Giverny

1 mai
Today is the French labor day and so we had no school! Me and 3 friends went to Giverny to see the famous gardens that Monet created and also his house there.  It turned out to be a great and relaxing date.  It felt good to get out of the constantly busy city and relax in some gorgeous French countryside.   We took the train to Vernon and then took the bus to Giverny (4 miles away).  We walked back to Vernon after we were done.  It was a gorgeous walk with fields of yellow flowers next to us.  The Monet gardens was one of the most incredible things I've ever seen.  It was just so incredibly gorgeous! The pictures don't do the landscape justice, but hopefully it will give you some of an idea of what it was like.

Monet himself

There was a huge water lily garden with the famous bridges.  So pretty.

Monet's beautiful house.

The frogs in the pond! These frogs were so loud and so big!

Monet's grave at the church near his house.

That's me at the base of the castle.
